i have heard of World Community Grid but would this help or what other way can i help to raise research for genetic disorders and disabiltys like

Cystic fibrosis
Down syndrome (many friends with this)
muscular dystrophy
Neurofibromatosis (family members and self with type 1)
spina bifida (lost a friend at the age of 24 to this)
Eplisey (many friends with this)

there are way to many disorders and disabiltys i would like to research but just not enough space to write them all down , if they can raise research for things like aids and cancer then why do i not see adds about these disorders that babys are born with.

You make a good point, I have an uncle in my family that has an essential tremor and the doctor wanted to do some research on it and a DNA test but his insurance would not pay for a DNA test and that was the end of that. Its all about the money unfortunately. Without some popular people pushing for your disease there just will not be enough money to do research, Look what M.J Fox has done for Parkinsons disease. Down syndrome is one of them that I have no doubt they are working hard on. All we can do is pray and hope and keep the Faith. God Bless!!

There is lots of research going on about all the disabilities you mention. Some relates to prevention, but other how to live well with your disability. Gene research is working on all disabilities simultaneously - if the cause of a genetic disability is known - that is the first step to really understanding it. What people with existing disabilities need more than research is friends who care about them an support them in having the life they want.
