It happened before in 2000 when Karl Rove started several whisper campaigns about his being a POW.
ie He might be too disturbed mentally to be president from his years of captivity. He gave information to the enemy, etc.
Makes what they did to John Kerry seem dignified.
Cost McCain the republican nomination and the US was stuck with dunderhead for the next 2 terms.

There's no doubt about John McCain's military record. It's hard to say that a POW has no idea what war and torture is about. He has a legitimate point.

No, he won't be "Swiftboated", because, unlike John Kerry, he actually didn't spend his time insulting the service.

He's a legitimate war hero. And, while I disagree with him on a number of issues, I have to give him respect for his service.

By the way, if you pay close attention, you'll realize that the presidents that get us into stupid wars without an exit strategy are always the ones without military experience.

He won't get "swiftboated" because he's an Republican and we all know how Republicans can be retarded, drunks and AWOL from the Air guard state side (no less) and still be president.

McCain's record in the war is unquestionable great, he is a true hero. It is his support for the War in Iraq and illegal immigrant amnesty that has cost him support.
