I bought an XBOX 360 from a friend who wanted to buy the Halo 3 edition XBOX 360. He bought the 360 he sold to me off eBay and it worked fine. He sold it to me and after playing for a little while I got the RROD. It has a refurbished sticker on it and I was wondering if Microsoft will be willing to fix it under their new warranty?

Will Microsoft fix my XBOX 360 even though I am not the original owner and it already has a refurbished sticker on it?

OK great. I was just unsure. I will give them a call tomorrow and just let them know I got the RROD and would like to send it in for repair.

Anything else I should be worried about?

I wish more people knew of RRoD before they bought a 360. If waiting a month to get your $500 investment back is no problem then disregard this statement, but the main thing I wanna stress is this: When you get a refurbished console back from MS, you are way more likely to get RRoD than you are with the newer Xboxes. MS shoves their old parts into their refurbs! So you get old crappy junk that is proven to fail eventually. But again if you feel 3 years of waranty, great selection of games, great online is too good to give up then disregard my statement.

They should fix it even if it's a refurbished system, and you're not the original owner. You don't have to tell them that you're not the original owner. A refurbished system gets the same warranty that a new system gets.
