Well, I would say that ‘someone down to earth’ is someone who despite wealth, fame or reputation acts and listens like a decent human being. I would also say that ‘someone down to earth’ is not full of himself or herself or pretends to be someone their not.

A down to earth person will act the same friendly way every single time you see them. They don't ever act as if they are better than someone else.

A person is down to earth if they are humble and gentle and don't treat other people like dirt but sacrifice there own comfort to help a neighbor in need.

Down to earth isn't really about being all nice and stuff, it's more about going with the flow and relaxed, they have a good balance between having fun and also taking what needs to be taken serious, serious.

When you use good common sense, and don't just jump into something without weighing the consequences first. Also someone who is friendly and gets along well with most people. Someone who is easy to talk to.

Someone that has reason to brag but doesnt. Someone that doesnt have to help but does. Someone with money but doesnt talk about it. Someone that is rich or famous or popular or beautiful but doesn't act as though it makes them better than others.

They don't have overly high expectations of anything, they don't stereotype people, and they don't have superficial ideas about the way things should be. They think realistically

being yourself not calm or chilling but just you and realizing the effects that you actions may create, and nobodys perfect its not a personality its a way of thinking
