HS : Voices Carry by 'Til Tuesday
College: A Little Respect by Erasure

Yikes, lyrics of these songs show a really dysfunctional pattern . In fact, until I just researched it, I hadn't realized that both songs have to do with abusive relationships in the LesBiGay communities, but the first one, under network pressure, was changed around to make it about a Straight couple, and the second was written vague, but with a wink and a nudge. I usually don't click with pop songs but both of these songs are so nasty. No wonder I was treated like a doormat until recently. Thanks for this question, I'll be off to therapy now, LOL.

Teenage Dirtbag by Weezer

If you have seen the video, I would be the nerd guy that the girl never sees or anything... the only exception is that at one point she invites him to dance in homecoming at the end of the video because that Jamey guy never even said hi to me, lol. But he was HAWT! ...it was a little crush 3 years ago when I was a junior in high school.

In college I don't like anyone but there are plenty of hunks there but I'm not interested. Now, if you are talking about ummm.. that one (not a classmate BTW) the song is I'm alive by Celine Dion. ^_^ but the song must be Teenage Dirtbag too, lol.

There was one particular singing spanish group but I don't remember their name. I remember some of their songs but not the title. When I DO, have the chance to listen to them, I remember my high school sweethearts. Only when I visit relatives in Manhattan, I get the chance to listen and hear those songs. I really hear American music.

I didn't have college sweethearts... that was during my "down with love" phase... High school sweetheart - "I cross my heart" by George Strait...

After we had ended things, He took me to see that movie and asked to to come back to him... he left me originally and something just told me to say no... then towards the end of the movie, he started singing this song along with the moive... Cheesy as all get out and while it was sweet, I'm glad I stuck to my original answer of no....still makes me think of him though.

In high school it was "Hard Habit to Break" by Chicago and a lot of Journey.

Now just making me think about the song, made me think WAY back...ahhh, the memories of youth...thanks

The Dance by Garth Brooks.
I have a really nice story about that song and still to this day my heart aches yet I feel happy at the same time.

What a very lovely question!! :)

I've been thinking about this, these last hours. Most of them are Brazilian songs, and my experience, these last couple of years, is that most people here are not interested in Brazilian music. But thank you very much for the question, and for the good memories!! :) :)

Which are yours?
