I agree.
It falls into the same catagory as "Whatever"
Or "You're just jealous"
It puts the conversation action back on you when they haven't really said a meaningful response. So you inevitably are the one that looks like you are in the wrong.
Learn passive aggressive techniques.
Say something like, " It hurts me that you only show superficial concern for something that is deeply bothering me"
This puts it back on them to defend themselves.

It is frustrating when people tell someone to "get over it." It undermines the person's feelings. Making them seem like it's no biggie at all, when in fact the person may be in a lot of turmoil.
Saying that, I think that certain people can get away with saying that though. People that have been or are going through "worse." Sometimes when you get older the problems of today, seem so... trivial. So I don't know.

You may be more sensitive than others, and them saying that only makes things worse for you. What they are saying is, they don`t see what is hurting you, that doesn`t make it any less painful to you. People see things from many perspectives, and thiers can`t help you. What you need to do is find a sympathetic person to talk to. I hope this helps. LUV.

Heights.

No, actually, I agree with your statement. Ask
questions, always, do not go gentle into that
good night, and never let the free press
become a bought-out system.
Hmm. Some backtracking may be necessary.

I agree with your reflection. I went to a psychologist for a few sessions once and he told me something similar. There's always a conflict within us, no matter the age, and those who accept it are more honest with themselves. By conflict, he didn't mean depression, but mixed emotions. Those who accept this are more "real".

People are idiots, plain and simple. Never follow their advice because they're always just as wrong as you or me.
