I had an abnormal pap around this time last year and I had to undergo two surgeries to fix what they said were pre-cancerous cells. Then a month after my last surgery I had a pap smear done and It came back abnormal. I told the doctor that it probably came back abnormal because i recently had a surgery and he said it shouldnt have. Has anyone went through this before? is it possible i might have to have a third surgery? i talked to the physician that did the surgery and he wont do a pap on me until next year. thanks for any advice.

Sometimes paps can come abnormal if an infection is occurring at the same time. I've had this happen to me before. I would recommend getting another opinion, preferably from someone that does not share the same office of the doctor you currently use, to see what the second opinion doctor says.

In the mean time here's the link to a site that might have even more information that might be of help. It's at: http://forums.obgyn.net/womens-health
