Right. You eventually learn to not feel emotion, that way there's no pain. Eventually people hurt you enough that you say "**** you, I'm not dealing with it anymore. No emotion No pain."

I consider myself strong emotionally for going through all of the stuff that I hve. I dont know if this a good way to deal with it, but its the only thing thts ever worked for me

For me, it is frustration. I feel like pain is an delay that is preventing me from doing all that I can do every day. Sadness makes me confused, I have trouble focusing on my daily life schedule.

Because I am strong, both pain and sadness do not last too long in my life. I quickly recover, quickly forget the pain and/or sadness, and once again embrace the great things about being ME there is!

I do consider myself strong, but there have been times in my life that I wondered whether I could bear the pain. The worst day of my life was when my wife of 54 years died. Yes, strong men do cry, but now I can see that you can go on regardless of what life throws at you, I hope you can do the same.

the strength is remembering that the pain goes away - and yet remembering that it can also get worse before it gets better
