Top down. Aviator shades on. Radio cranked up as loud as it will go. It's almost dusk. There's nothing in front of you except for gravel and yellow lines. You stop at a lone gas station, buy fries from a greasy diner, and get back in the car. You're with your two best friends, driving for an end-of-summer trip to the beach and generally having the time of your life. Because you know things as you know it are ending soon. What's on your playlist for this kind of scenario?

I like Coldplay, Jose Gonzalez, Joss Stone, Justin Timberlake, Lily Allen, Maroon 5, Nada Surf, Oasis, Phantom Planet, Snow Patrol, The Beatles, The Fray, Vanessa Carlton. It might have to do with summer, friends, or life in general. New bands/artists would be great! No rap please. Thanks :]

OK then, disregard the bands. It was only to give an idea of what kind of stuff I like. But you can tell me anything.

Some of your taste in music is a little lame. Just my opinion. I do like Lily Allen and The Beatles, not just for their music but because I respect them. But on road trips I listen to the entire "Stay What You Are" album by Saves the Day, the "Walking on a Wire" album by The Get Up Kids. Any album by the Donnas.

The Wallflowers, specifically Closer To You.
Teddy Geiger, James Blunt, Tegan and Sara, some Moby

my personal staples are Evanescence, Eric Clapton, and A Cursive Memory, but they might not be "road songs" for everyone. A Cursive Memory is good to listen to with friends.

The Beach Boys have lyrics that are mostly about summer, girls, and cars. Not exactly what you're looking for, but they're a great group! Plus, they were pretty much celebrating the good stuff in life.

Stay in the 60's though...
