i think extreme physical pain is worse. like torture.
emotions hurt but your body is intact. if your leg gets blown off, that's a permanent problem
however about disappointment i have learned that the reason you get let down is because you have unrealistic expectations - what you expected is not consistent with the way the world is or how other people really act. so by changing yourself internally to see things more in line with reality it reduces disappointment.
the disappointment is YOUR FEELING. take responsibility for your feelings; other people don't create them. your hopes being out of line with reality/results is what creates them.

No. The worst feeling in the world is the pain you feel when you are stabbed in the back by friends and Significant Others and spouses and relatives! Believe me, although life sucks when you don't put yourself in a position to be stabbed in the back, better that life sucks that that it rips out every internal organ you have, one by one, through your back, and stomps on each in front of you. This is what it feels like when you are stabbed in the back. This pain has to be worse than being burned alive in Hell!
My advice. Make a lot of money so that you don't need friends, or a spouse. With a lot of money, you can rent good substitutes. If you are super-rich, and if you really, really have to have your own children, then you will be able to afford to have children all over the world in secret. This way, you have the children but they don't have you to stab in the back one day.

I know what you are talking about. I've been working on getting a specific job for WEEKS NOW --- I still don't know if I have it but I DO have competition. I've had to take 3 different tests, interview twice AND take a lie detector PLUS they did a background check -- all came out okay and NOW I'm just waiting to find out if I won over the other 2 people and there's no way of knowing and won't know until next week. I know that if I find out, after all I've gone through, that I did NOT get the job......it will be extremely upsetting. I'm not counting on anything.

No. Sadness is. But sadness comes with dissapointment. Do something you really like. Watch Curious George. Talk on the phone for 3 hours with a buddy. Go to a fun movie.

Yes, the only advice I could give you is never expect to much from anyone. Unless you feel you know them very well, I don't that way I'm less likely to be disappointed, and it's mutually beneficial as well. It's not fair to the other person that they don't meet your expectations, they are what they are. If you believe that they weren't doing on purpose with the intentions of coning then no ones to blame.

No, pain is the worst feeling - like when you have cancer.
Get over expecting people to do what you want and you won't have the problem of disappointment.

Big disappointments are devastating. I think anguish is the worst though. It accompanies many negative feelings, affects your health negatively, and can cause you to react in ways that make a bad situation worse.
