Agree with you about Booty. Can we say system QB? And without the great receivers plugged in...not even a very good one. I would say another Trojan takes it in the NFL....Leinart. Really...what has he done? Yeah, his number were a little better than Vince....but Vince led his team to wins, which is far more important than yards.
Another guy is Urlacher...a good LB...but without Briggs, not near as dangerous. I can also see an argument for Roy.
*and hey...not to ruffle your feathers...but Henne doesn't exactly light my fire either. As long as he has been starting you would think he would make better decisions. I think Mallet will be much better. anothe dude if Colt Brennan....plays arena football against PeeWee teams....wow, how impressive. The have not played a single team ranked under three digits in the Computer Power Rankings. They should not be in the top 50...let alone in the top 25 in the BCS.

I agree that most of the answers for this so far have been horrible. Tom Brady? Overrated? Really? 3 Superbowl Rings with mediocre recievers all the years he won is by no means overrated. Brian Urlacher is solid. Tony Romo makes bad decisions, but he's young and he will only get better.
Until his dogfighting fiasco, Mike Vick was the most overrated NFL player. Couldn't pass at all, which may not be a problem when you are playing bad teams, but will never get it done against the league elite. Sure he could run, but isn't that what running backs are for? I agree that Alexander is overrated - anybody could have fun for the yards he did with the o-lines hes had. McNabb is overrated - anybody can pass for 300 yards with you throw 50-60 times a game. Lastly, I agree that Roy Williams in Dallas is overrated, and so is another safety, John Lynch. People always say hes a difference maker, but difference makers usually get more than 2 INT in the past three seasons (including the current one), and he's never had more than 3 INT in a season, by no means dominant.
For college, I would say John David Booty, Pat White, and Colt Brennan. Two of them can't pass, and the third passes so much you can't regard any of his stats seriously. You could also say that the entire BC team is overrated. Ranked #2 although you haven't beaten anybody? (Besides the Virginia Tech game with was total BS). If BC plays in the national title game, they are going to get smoked, and smoked bad.

colt brennan i mean he throws 50 touchdowns because of two reasons. 1 hes at a pass happy run 10 times[ all in fourth quarter ] and 2 the WAC has powerhouses San Jose State [which the barely beat]Fresno State LA Tech New MExico State and Utah state. And their strength of schedule is 0.00
The combined records of these oponents are 13 and 38 and this team faces to non division 1 a teams. The most overrated player in pro football is Brady Quinnnnn. Sure he broke every Notre Dame record but what happened when they didnt play cream puffs like Purdue Stanford army and Airforce. BLOWOUTS!!! The lost to Michigan 47-21 USC 44-24 and LSU 41-14. Thats 132-59. I mean how did they get to a BCS BOwl i mean Arkansas was more deserving.

College, I would say Colt Brennan. Just because Hawaii plays bad teams, and the bad teams they play put all their athletes on offense, so their defenses are really bad.
Pro There are quite a few, it's hard to pick one. I say Lehnert.(sp) I think by far the most underrated is Kurt Warner. Remember 6 years ago when they said he was washed up.
I have to dissagree with Alexander. He is a good player, but not as good as he once was. He is a running back, and I think his age is catching up to him.
I can't believe people actually said Emmitt Smith and Mike Hart. They are both awsome(and remind me of each other) not really flashy, but they get the tough yards, and I think combined they have a total of 10 fumbles. Not bad since emmitt played for 17 years and mike hart is a 4 year starter.

College - I'll go with Booty also.
Pro - Alex Smith the human interception machine
To the guy who said Champ Bailey is overrated you need some smelling salts to wake you up. Only 4 completions where thrown in his direction last year. 4. That's pretty impressive if you ask me.

Agree with Booty.
Terrell Owens has way to many dropped balls for me to ever think of him as a great receiver. And Emmitt Smith never impressed me. My gramma could have gotten a thousand yards a season with the Cowboys.

all the answers for this question so far have been horrible. favre's one of the best qv's of all time, so is brady. champ bailey is the best cb in the league, urlacher's great, tony romo and vince young are very good qb's. you all missed it. the most overrated players in the league are... drew brees, alge crumpler, reggie bush, and heres the big one... terrel owens. alge crumpler is nothing without vick, reggie bush cant outrun everyone like he did in college, and t.o. drops too many balls.
