How can a human body be used as a metaphor for the 12 cell organelles which are the cell wall, cell membrane, endoplasmic reticulum, ribosomes, lysosomes, mitochondria, golgi bodies, vacuoles, nucleus, nucleoli, chromatin, and chloroplasts? For example I already know that a metaphor for nucleus can be a human brain, but the rest i dont kno so can u help me cuz i need it ASAP! Thanx and the best answer and most info gets 10 points!!!!!!

Use your book to make sure you understand what each part does. For instance, the lysosome has digestive enzymes to break down large food molecules. So the lysosome is like the stomach. Once you know what each part does, the rest is fairly easy.

Just a note about your nucleus example. You know that the nucleus contains the nucleoli and the chromatin. The chromatin is the part with the DNA that has all the instructions for running the cell. So you don't want to say that the nucleus is like the brain, or you won't have some smaller part in the brain to compare with the chromatin. I'd say that the chromatin (the DNA) is like the brain. Chromatin is in the nucleus. The brain is in the head. So maybe the nucleus is like the head.

One more small suggestion. I don't recommend trying to bribe Yahoo Answerers with points because the points don't really count for anything. Most of us just answer questions because we love science and like to help people. Personally, I love to teach biology, and this lets me do a little more of that. Nobody's going to be answering questions for the points unless they're trying to get enough points to ask some questions of their own. I think I have about 35,000 points or so, but they don't mean anything to me.

cell wall = upper epidermis
cell membrane = lower epidermis
lysosomes= stomach
golgi body =liver
chromatin=gametes
mitochondria=lungs
nucleus=brain
nucleoli= maybe autonomic function since its just a cluster of RNA
chloroplast=can't see light energy use in a human body besides as an agent for production of vitamin D
endoplasmic reticulum=could glands sort of
that's all i got

The human body is made of organs which have specific functions just as organelles of the cell.

hmmm..
well

cell wall= wall around the cell(thats self explanatory)
cell membrane= contains the members(parts) of the cell
EndoplasmincReticulum= its in the plasma and endo is inside..so they are tubes w/things inside
ribosomes:
lysosomes=lyso means to break down
mitochondria=its mighty so it is the "powehouse'
sorry thats about all i can think of
