Write a paper on Lake Mead, even though the lake is man made there are a lot of resorces from the power produced at Hoover dam to the recreation at the the lake.

There was a huge gold mine in Carlin about 20 years ago...it was active for quite awhile (strip mining). There was silver and some gold in the Virginia City and surrounding areas in the second half of the 1900's. Most of Nevada is actually federal land, and most of that is essentially wilderness. A major problem is the lack of water (no major rivers except the Colorado River near Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe). There are quite a few hot springs with 50 miles or so of Lake Tahoe--there are some spas in those areas.
