Sounds familiar! My son did that quite often - and it continued till he was about 5! My theory was that he had a heightened gag reflex, and if there was any food at the back of his throat more than a second or two - whoosh. He was unfazed by the whole thing, and as soon as he was cleaned up, he'd be hungry again. As long as your baby doesn't appear ill - loss of appetite, fever, etc., don't worry about it.

From day one, my daughter (now 22 years of age) was a barfy baby. She had a sensitive stomach and spit up after most feedings. There were times when she really christened me with the whole bottle that I gave her. That usually happened when she drank too fast and I was having problems getting her to burp. The doctor was not concerned about her spitting up all the time, as she was gaining weight well and was in good health. So yes, it is very common for babies to spit up or even vomit after feeding. Some kids are just barfy!

Infants aren't particularly good at recognizing a burp that's going to be productive.
You might try "burping" him/her at about the halfway point in the feeding - and for that you'll need to experiment - some babies do better sitting up straight, tilted forward a bit or tilted backwards slightly. Occasionally a little gentle jouncing might help too.
Oh yes, when you do this, be sure and have a small towel or facecloth to catch the burp in case it's not just a bubble.

I would only be worried if it continued for more than a couple of hours. Sometimes they just get too much too fast or have been too hyperactive before or after the feed and can't keep it down.
As i said, if she continues to vomit then take her to a doc

more then likely it is jsut she ate to much to fast. my daughter only did it once and it was when her daddy was feeding her. i think she was maybe a weekold and he fell asleep feeding her and she drank a full 4 oz bottle. he learned the heard way never to do it again. if she continues to get sick after feeding then go to the doc but if it was only this mornign then dont worry.

Eating too fast, too much or intake of too much air can cause vomiting in infants.

She may have eaten too fast, you could have given her too much, or she wasn't burped properly.
