I'm sure this is the case for an immature person who doesn't want to grow up. But I would much rather see a 17 year old acting 11, rather than an 11 year old acting 17...or a 17 year old acting 23. I find that the exact opposite is true...MOST people are in a rush to grow up and try to act like they are adults, yet aren't ready for the responsibilities that come along with being an adult.

I'm gonna go with...the 11 year old is acting older...and the 17 year old is acting 17.....11 year olds want to hurry up and grow up as it looks "cool" however once you get to 16,17 you realize that 18 + isn't so fun with all the responsibilities...so they tend to no longer strive to mature faster then they need to...in other words they slow down and mature naturally rather then trying to speed it up...or even perhaps try to go back a year or to to maturity of 14 or 15..to try to keep that kidness alive as long as possible!

They're boys or very immature girls. The fact is that at 17 everything is pushed at you. You're supposed to know what you want to do with the rest of your life and all so it makes you long to be a little kid again. At 11 they're in such a hurry to prove to the world that they're grown up and can do things by themselves. I remember both ages. I never acted like a kid at either age. I always had to prove something to someone, unfortunately.

MOST people at 17 act that way.
I can't say I acted 11 at 17, I was a mother with a household to run, uni to do, and bills to pay. So I can't exactly say I was acting like I was 11.....

They act like that because they do not think it is time for them to be seriously mature, they think that they should live on a child like side for as long as possible because with maturity comes responsibilities: not that they are running from it but because mentally something is holding them back and the number one thing is fear...trust me i know..i'm 17 act like 11
