Just wondering about how many people have actually heard of the horrific Armenian genocide that occurred in 1915, and killed 1.5 million Armenians. My Grandpa's family was all killed and he was the only survivor. Sad. That is why us Armenians are scattered all around the world.....and there aren't too many of us. Just curious if you guys know about it. =)

Yes. I read a YA post about the Armenian genocide nearly a year ago and have subsequently read a lot of the history. The Turks also comitted genocide against the less numerous Pontic Greeks at the same time. Because the civilized world did little at the time, the Armenian genocide served as a model for later genocides comitted by Stalin and Hitler. As a result of reading the history, I have sympathy for Armenians. God bless Armenians!

I'm not Armenian, but yes, I have heard about it. I went to see somebody speak about the topic last year for my Senior Seminar class. I mentioned it in my class a few weeks ago (I teach high school) and a few students have heard about it. I showed them pictures and they are now informed of it too.

No and I am sorry to hear that. You know, I don't know any Armenian people. (or I do know some, but they never mention their nationality.)
Hugs to the Armenian people.

My great grandmother's family was lost, and she would always say she had brother's living in Europe. She would tell us how missionaries would come and take orphan children away. Armenian here barev...

yes and it's a sad history - genocide always is & countries that have committed it in the past should own up to it & apologize & try to make restitution to the survivors
