Here is some information to find out about taking a course to get ready for the GED. They can give more information about taking the test as well--there are numerous sites around the City. Good luck!

Call the LAC’s Literacy Referral Hotline:

from New York City, 212.803.3333
from NY State outside NYC, 888.683.READ (683.73.23) toll-free
The Hotline staff will give you information about a program in your neighborhood with classes to help you prepare to take the exam. Or you can go to the LAC’s online Adult Education Locator to search for a program in your neighborhood.

I don't live in NYC but I live in AZ and here we have that available at the trade schools- like to get a medical assistant degree, dental assistant, office manager etc. As far as what the first person that answered said- it is not true that these types of college's won't accept you. As long as you get the GED before graduating from their school they will accept you and help you achieve it at that. Hope this helps.

Normally GEDs are done at high schools or community centers. I don't really understand....do you want to take this study course simultaneously with a college course? This could never happen because you need a high school degree to get accepted.
