I use to install split systems years ago before they started outlawing the use of refrigeration without a license. Unfortunatly they consider refrigerant a enviromental hazard. (that is another argument all together). The fine if caught is huge in the 5 digits, and your neighbor can even turn you in. So now I just suck it up and pay a trustworthy installer to do it.
Good Luck to Ya

My grandson spent four years in college learning air conditioning and heating and another three on the job to say he "Knows" the business.
I am a retired contractor and I know a little but, I cannot do the entire job, I'm a carpenter.
You want to know all there is to know, right here, sorry, go to Home Depot, ask them, maybe they can help.

I agree with everyone else. Have a professional do this. There are codes and guidelines also that need to be followed. This is not something that I believe legally can be done without prior experience ect.The fines and the dangers involved if this is not done correctly are staggering.

most heating systems are suppose to be installed by a lic plumber, or electrician, even gas lines, , a/c you can install , if your brave enough, but considering the problems you would run in to, you would be $ ahead by having it installed by a teck,
