he swears it's not his, and it was in the side pocket (the north face bookbags with the water bottle pocket). at his court hearing, if he's found guilty, what can happen? plzz helpp i need to knoww!

If he is a normal kid and doesn't show up in court looking ghetto or like a skate rat maybe nothing will happen. Or he might get some sort of probation or have to take some sort of class.
Explusion is usually a last resort..... so if he has never been in trouble they won't go that far. Kicking a kid out of school serves nothing.
They tend not to believe the "its not mine thing". But since it was in a side pocket there could be doubt. If it was in the bottom of the main pocket they would certainly not believe him as if one was hiding something that is where they would put it. But a side pocket..... there is doubt as someone could have slipped it in.
Again the only way to shift doubt..... he needs to speak clearly, look the judge in the eyes and be scrubbed up like a Marine on his way to Church. His parents need to do so as well. If the parents are calm the judge might say "OK, this is the first time so I'll let the parents handle this one".

A friend is a former school security guard.This is my source of info.
They show no mercy in situations like this, and when the student says "it isn't mine, i don't know how it got in there," the response is usually, Bull@#@@!
What happens depends on the student, his past record, his attitude, but no matter what,
there' s a hearing before the local magistrate. The punishment could be fine, expulsion, suspension or warning, it's up to the magistrate.
A policy against bringing weapons into school is useless unless it is 100% enforced.

That's what everyone says. I'm not kidding. I am an attorney and have represented kids in this exact same situation.
No one is going to believe that story.
If this is his first offense, he will probably get some sort of "deferred adjudication". He will have to do community service, maybe attend some classes, and will be put on probation.
If he completes everything successfully, he may be able to withdraw his plea and have the charges dismissed, making it as if it never happened
If it is not his first offense, or he fails to do what he needs to while on probation, he can be sent to juvenile detention.

Maybe they could arrest people that might be THINKING about committing a crime. And of course you know that those
(Jews, Blacks, Muslims, Women, Whites, Latinos, Asians, and Eskimos) are always into something illegal.
This is what happens when FREEDOM dies. Sure; Its to protect the people.
Who were they protecting when they crucified Christ?
They got your friend, they will get your neighbors, your family and finally YOU.
Why don't you call your Congressman and ask HIM what can happen. And while your at it ask him what happened to the Bill of Rights.

He will be expelled from school, and transfered to the alternative education system in the juvenile justice system. (of course every state differs on this) The judge will decide his fate.

posession is 9/10ths of the law.
If he's founf guilty, he should talk to the judge and explain things. No one wants to ruin a kid's future and he needs to convince the judge he has learned from his mistakes.

Usually when you are found with any type of weapon at a school you will get expelled

well that happen to my cousin and he was expelled from the district of montebello and had to go to a different district
