Oh just what you said. When I was growing up, Buddy Holly was on the oldies station and Led Zeppelin and the Beatles were classic rock. Now my Def Leppard and Guns N Roses are on the classic rock station. And I remember the first time I heard Pour Some Sugar on Me on the classic rock station, I thought 'what's next, Geritol?' :)

When they start playing the songs you grew up with on the "old persons radio station".
Out here in Seattle it is KIXI.
That is mostly the POP songs....
Carpenters
Bobby Vinton

I remember music all the way back to early fifties and a lot of it I still listen to.
Tomas Timeless Tunes on Youtube gives pretty good rundown of songs.
And they do not seem to be focused on one time period.
Check out Tomas...be worth your while ..I think.
Anyway good Music is good Music.

Gene Krupa circa 1936 or thereabouts....

When you say "20 years ago..." and you are old enough to remember anything that happened that long ago.
When my next door neighbor became a grandma and she is 2 years YOUNGER than me
When you go to your 20 th class reunion and and half the guys are going bald and the other half are totally grey
When my best friend's daughter left for college
When guys in there 40's are suddenly attractive

You go back to your old music and scream "OW!" because you can't handle loudness of the loud music of your youth..... True story.
That's the same story I get from alot of people (I can relate but I'm still young)
