Would you rather?

Question

A) Trade: Marc-Andre Fleury, Michael Rosival and Marian Hossa

Recieve: Cam Ward, Ryan Whitney and Marion Gaborik

B) Trade: Marc-Andre Fleury, Michael Rosival, Thomas Vanek

Recieve: Cam Ward, Ryan Whitney and Marion Gaborik

C) Don't make a trade.

And why?

Oh and just so you guys know, the person i'm talking to this about, is fine with either one, but i'm kinda iffy on it. Vanek, well, he's on and off. But Hossa, I know he's great, but Vanek's doing great. And Hossa has 4 points to Vanek's 9.

I'd go with A. Thomas Vanek is on a decent team who can support him.

Uh....LITY, in both options, you receive Ward, Gaborik, and Whitney.

I'd have a problem with A

I'd do B in a heart beat.

1. I'd rather have Ward than Fleury.

2. I'd rather have Whitney than Roszival. I also believe that Whitney's upside over Roszival would outweigh any upside Fleury would have over Ward

3. I'd rather have Gaborik than Vanek, but I would rather have Hossa than Gaborik.

I'm aware that what I receive is the same, so the question becomes Vanek or Hossa. I believe that Hossa is better than Gaborik, and his upside over Gaborik is greater than any upside I get with Ward and Whitney, so Trade A is not an option. With trade B, I believe that Gaborik can skate circles around Vanek, and when added to the upside I believe I get with Whitney and Ward, I do trade B in a heartbeat

I would go with B.
Marian Hossa is among the elite players in the NHL and he has finished with 90+ points in the last 2 years.
Vanek is good but not elite yet and now he doesnt have Briere or Drury.
