Yep, one time while i worked at circuit city someone in the warehouse needed my pocket knife to cut some boxes open up above me on a ladder. After he was done he closed the knife and tossed it down to me. Well the knife wasnt all the way closed. By the time it hit my thumb from up above high on the ladder it cut me good. The fat and bone were exposed. But, I didnt get stitches, was forced to go back to work. Damn, Circuit City!

yup oooowwwww!! Peroxide and a bandaid. Once I was using a sowing machine, it got jammed and when I tried to get the material off of the needle, the needle went right through my thumb. Didn't feel a thing, but I thought I would bleed to death. Then the pain set in. The same thing happened with a metal rat tail comb and it went into my arm about two inches. Yowser!!! That one hurt like no other!!!

I accidentally stabbed the palm of my hand while cutting an apple. Still have the scar. Clean it well with soap and water. Peroxide isn't necessarily recommended for all injuries. Cover it with a bandaid during the day to keep it clean, but let it air at night while you're sleeping.

I once was chopping veggies with a big chopping knife & it slipped out of my hand, bounced off the floor & into the side of my thigh, requiring 3 stitches.
Oh and it hurt too
On the hand / fingers it hurts worse because of all the nerve endings there.

of course.
The big epidemic is bagel injury. People hold the bagel in their hand and slice through all the way
My wife's favorite is the slicer you put across the top of the bowl and run your potato back and forth across the blade. Took off the tip the slice of a dime. They don't sew on parts that small.

I've done it a couple times over the years. Usually when I'm washing dishes - which I hate - and trying to get done as quickly as possible. Last year I actually had to go get stitches in my hand because of my stupidity.

I always think 'what would the knife do if the thing I am cutting is not there'. With this in mind you always cut away from yourself. Less blood tooo.
