Part of a scout trophy one of questions cant find it anyway, would be gratful for help

on 25th august 1940 at 12:15am an air raid there were gunfires and bombs at West Hartlepool.

It was the start of The Blitz i.e. German raids on British cities. The Battle of Britain itself was well underway at this stage. Specifically on the night of August 25th the cities of Birmingham and Liverpool were bombed and then later (in early September) they (the Germans) began bombing London.

My best guess would be the bombing of Berlin. I know it happened on the night of the 25th. I don't know, however, if that was night during pre-dawn or after sunset. :)
