Maybe it's because I'm a mindless bafoon, but I like these simple "What's your favorite _____?" questions. The problem is I couldn't care less about what most of the questions are asking about. So here's my attempt, along with the last Ramones question, to rectify that for anyone else like me out there.
Right now I might say "White Light/White Heat" and the debut. But "Heroin" would be a close second, "I'm Waiting For The Man" a close third, and then too many other to start naming. What a great band though huh?

"Venus In Furs" "Run Run Run" "All Tomorrow's Parties" "There She Goes Again", every song on White Light/White Heat, "Pale Blue Eyes" "Some Kinda Love" "I Can't Stand It" "What Goes On" "Rock And Roll" "Sweet Jane"

I agree, if having good taste is trite!
I once wrote a small paragraph about how "Sunday Morning" didn't belong on that album. I've changed my opinion since, I like it and it fits oddly. Good picks, but then again it might be hard to make bad picks off that album lol.

Hah! The story about painting the banana is awesome! Not many people will get it but the people who do will think it's great, it would make my day if I saw it. Good job making a lasting tribute to something that deserves tribute!

Man, that's like picking you favorite child........ahhhhh, dilemma......
For favorite album its really close between WhiteLight/White Heat and The Velvet Underground &Nico..... White Light/White Heat wins this for me, because it has Sister Ray
My favorite songs would have to be Sweet Jane, Sister Ray, Heroin, Femme Fatale, I Hear Her Call My Name, Run Run Run, and I'm Waiting For The Man

Oh wow, that's incredibly hard. My favorite song would have to be "Venus In Furs," but Sunday Morning, I'm Sticking With You, I'll Be Your Mirror... God, everything on The Velvet Underground And Nico is absolutely incredible. Buy that album asap. If you're not gonna buy the whole album, the songs I would recomend are: i'm sticking with you i'm waiting for the man femme fatale venus in furs there she goes again i'll be your mirror sweet jane rock and roll. but all of their stuff is incredible.

In my senior year of high school (which was just last year), I took Art III. The students in Art III got to make a mural on our school wall. One of the things I painted was the banana from The Velvet Underground and Nico...not many people got why I painted a banana on the wall. A few did, but not many...
lol, just thought I would add that. Right now, I would say it's Sweet Jane. You like the "What's your favorite ____?" questions, but I hate them! :-S Well, I don't hate them...I'm just a very indecisive person. Loaded is also my favorite Velvet Underground album for the moment...but of all time, I couldn't say.

Velvet Underground fan - right here! I know as trite as this is going to sound, I'm gonna have to go with the Velvet Underground and Nico album (with the Warhol banana on the cover). Too many good tracks on that one ..."Run, Run, Run".. "Heroin" as you mentioned, and "Sunday Morning" ..."Femme Fatale" was good too :)

Ummm, uh, this could take a while to answer. Albums I'm not even going to try as all were excellent in their own right. Songs, I'd have to say "Stephanie Says", followed by "Sunday Morning" and "Beginning To See The LIght". But then again, I could change my answers as often as I change my socks......

I always thought that "European Son" was their best. With "I'll be your mirror" and "After Hours" tied for second. With these three songs you see the full range of the Velvets: dark and dissonant, poetic, pretty, and playful.
