I can only tell you this. I was a nurse at Beaumont hospital and it is a good hospital in caring for their patients. I worked at the Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital. One of the Cardiologists there, is named in the top 10 in the U.S! This physician is as unassuming as they come. He spends time with his patients and I never once heard a complaint about him. There are many, many others that are just as patient and respecting of their patients.
There are many physicians who don't overbook and are seriously respectful of their patients and do spend time with them.
Of course there are places you would not take your car. Why would anyone settle or stay with a doctor who makes you wait or doesn't spend time with you? If people are unsatisfied with their doctor, they are certainly privilaged to fire him, and hire a new one.
Americans do have the best health care providers on the planet. We have the best technologies available. We have the best research, equipment and our FDA goes through an extensive process to make sure the medications are thoroughly tested, with all the contraindications, and side effects known. You are always provided with these both written and verbally by a good nurse and doctor when receiving new medicine for a new condition.
Yes, we care for people regardless of their ability to pay, and some hospitals have been forced to close. We do need reforms in making health care more affordable, but the government system is NOT the way to go!
With all of it's faults, which everyday professionals in health care strive to make the care better. It is still the best, and I for one would not want health care anywhere else.

I give this 10 hugs! ma wrote one the other day that spoke to me on an intuitive level. Deep as if connected I felt her poem. I know this poem and wish I could have come up with the tools you used to deliver it- I love the way you chose the dictionary, calendar, well meaning and future hope. I really don't think some people will ever feel the realization of deeper understanding. This leaves me with remembering the grief that I am truly alone because nothing and no one can at times make it better. My spirituality is the only porthole and even then because I am not perfect, I doubt. I know I've "gone off" from where this lead but lol that is me. BTW- Love the last line so very much.

Great example why socialism does not work and will never work BUT reality, facts, common sense and any other conventional decision making factors will never convince socialists their way of life is a fantasy world.
Yes, they are too close minded. This is a group of people who at one time had a cause in life- civil rights. Well, all the laws that needed changing have been done and there really is no longer a "cause" for liberals. Like labor unions and affirmative action, these groups will never go away on their own regardless of the need for their causes. So, they have morphed into socialist and communist activists (who hi-jacked their causes and ideology).

Uh, before reading, no, we don't have a wonderful health care system, since we allow people to suffer and die because they aren't rich, and many people lose their homes because someone in the family got sick.
When people go with no access to health care at all, then it's not a good system.
Um, one Brit's opinion means more than FACTS?
Some people have the capacity to reason (get your mommy to explain it to you); some people have hearts.
The link loaded. It's a load of hooey. Just because one person who doesn't even live in this country concludes that all Americans are able to get needed health care, doesn't make it true.
Why do so many on the right hate facts, truth, reality, reason, evidence, and utterly lack any compassion?
It's simply not true that all Americans can get the medicine or medical treatment they need.
Those who tell you otherwise either don't know what they're talking about, or are lying.
But then there's no reasoning with those who refuse to see reality, and who don't care how many suffer and die.
All HUMAN BEINGS realize you're wrong.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So the right-wing doesn't like government run health care. We KNOW that, already. BUT--our health care system is a mess.
No one gives a rat's behind about your political slogans. Whenare cons going to start coming up with their own IDEAS? Instead of jsut whining about the ones Democrats are proposing.
As things stand--reforms are going to be focused on government intervention--because the conseervatives aren't producing any policy proposals of their own. Political slogans are not proposals to fix the problems.

Great article! Have lived in America over 60 years and have always had good health treatment. I wouldn't ever want to go to another country thinking I would get better!

I NOTICED THAT MANY OF THE PEOPLE ATTACKED THE SOURCE OR THE REPUBLICANS RATHER THAN THE OBVIOUS THAT UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE STINKS.
MANY BRITS DO COME OVER HERE TO GET TREATMENT SINCE WAITING TIMES IN ENGLAND ARE OBSCENE.

My doctor spends less than 2 minutes listening to me, makes me get tests I don't want or need that show I don't have what I said I didn't have two weeks after I tried to make an appointment, charges me silly for this, tries to prescribe me drugs I don't need because of the incestuous relationship he has with the drug companies, and my insurance company makes it so painful to get a different doc that I may as well stick with this quack. Yeah, US health care is wonderful. And I'm one of the lucky ones, I can afford insurance.

Back slid'n all the way up the hill G Bush?
"History teaches us that underestimating the words of evil, ambitious men is a terrible mistake," Bush said. "Bin Laden and his terrorist allies have made their intentions as clear as Lenin and Hitler before them. And the question is, will we listen?"
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20071101/ap_o...
If I am not mistaken, Bin Laden is not a threat to the US. So why on earth would G Bush use him like this?
Just goes to show how much this man is a lier!
Somebody prove me wrong please, come on cons rep, answer the question...
Did he just not lie to the world? To his country? To his fellow man?
Yes or No?
If War Denial is dangerous, then Bin Laden must be a threat! It would be nice if this so called man made up his mind for the better of our troops!
Sorry Bas;lkj;
