I would recommend you Hayward its one of the coolest place in the bay area.Also SF.I do live in Hayward and it is really cool.You can get bart.all the way from SF to Hayward.

the north bay, especially sonoma and napa county wine country are full of fall color right now. All the grape vines are just going nuts with fall color. If you want, check out bay area backroads like on kron4.com website and they usually have great backroads trips. and they go up here a lot.

Martinez and across the bridge to Benecia and hwy 29 up to Napa valley probably the best route to see some yellow and red color.
