my sensor light came on suddenly on my sierra, 5.3 litre, was driving through water, puddles when it happened, power still seems good and runs good so what is the most common cause of sensor lights in these truck to save me the 150 dollars on taking it to a dealer for sensor

its not the check engine light on the display hud its a small sensor light on the dash itself just above the speedo, the check engine light is where the low fuel, change oil light is, this is the actual sensor light

is it just the check engine light that turned on? If it is its probably because of a misfire when something got wet. Check with local parts stores to see if they can pull the code off the ecm (most do it for free) and have them reset the ecm.
