I am asking this question for a friend of mine. I already have insurance.

My friend took a pregnancy test and was surprised when it came out pos. Anyway, she doesn't have health insurance so she hasn't made a doctors appointment yet. Were she lives there is a family planning and I told her to call them and go to them. I do know they have a health insurance you can get through them and what not. But I want to find a few different insurances she can look into and find the one that best fits her and her boyfriend's needs. I have heard of some people on here talking about an insurance that can't turn you down if you are pregnant. So I was hoping you all could help me and give me the names of insurances and hopefully a website that she could check out. Thank you for your time.

medicaid WILL NOT turn her down for already being pregnant, thats what they are there for. i would just tell her to do to her countys DHS and apply, she will more than likely walk out with insurance unless they need to verify and that can take up to like 2 weeks i think. but tell her to go to a free clinic before she goes to DHS cause i know here in Oklahoma they needed proof from a doctor or clinic saying i was pregnant. they do have insurance for pregnant women and their unborn babies. tell her i said congrats and good luck !!

Hi,

First of all, sorry to say there, I don’t think there is a medical insurance called "medicaid" in Singapore market.

the medical insurance available in the market do not cover the hospital expenses for pregnancy, but your friend can pay the bills by using her Medisave (only for government hospital like KK, for private hospital can only claim up to a certain limit, remaining bill need to settle in cash).

However, there are medical insurances specially designed for pregnancy complication, however, there is a waiting period of 90 days, which means, the insurance only claimable if the complication happens after the policy being in forced for 90 days and only cover for the age from18 to 45.

If you wish to know more, we can arrange for a discussion to see what health insurance is most suitable for your friend and absolutely no obligations.

The best one I could recommend would be medicaid, provided by the state. Having a baby isn't cheap. With medicaid there is no co-pays. Yes it is government help, but believe me its help. I'm sorry if this not what your looking for. Hope it helps anyways.

I'm not sure of websites, but most states have medicaid for pregnant women and their babies, the best course of options is to go to your state DHS office and explain the situation to them.

Most states offer medicaid for pregnant women and they get free prenatal care. She should do what you say and ask a family planning clinic about it.

They will turn you down if you are already pregnant because they look at it as a "pre-existing condition". The only suggestion I have is medicaid for unplanned pregnancies. that is what I am on because all the insurance companies turned me down!

Have her check with the state. Private companies will probably consider her pregnancy a pre-existing condition.

This is a health savings plan that will not turn you down for pre-existing conditions. Hope it helps. Good luck to you & your friend!
