If you don't have one...open a savings account and drop $200.00 into it...put the other $200.00 in your pocket.
You're 13 years old, you'll figure out something to do with $200.00
Whenever you get money 1/2 in the bank 1/2 in your pocket. Makes for a nice savings as you get older.

It depends on your definition of "a lot". Small amount put in bank, more put in CD. more think about a stock portfolio. Buying a good stock now could mean retirement very early. If you have enough land or real estate is good. Talk to someone you trust that has money. A boss or a teacher, or perhaps a friends parent, and get some advice. Be very wary of people who want to invest it for you. Money invested means not having to work as long. If you have enough an investment councilor would be a wise decision.

I suggest you take it to a bank and don't touch it till you get older.
By the way, what's a "lot" of money?

You can donate it to a nice charity. I heard that Bill Gates has started a wonderful charity, and Warren Buffet has donated billions to it already.
