Do you have an emergency pack in your home or vehicle? Something put together to get you through, say, power outages, tornadoes, hurricanes, blizzards, floods, etc?
If so, what's in it, for what type of emergency, and have you ever actually needed to use it?
Just curious. (Mine's a tornado pack. Never needed it, fortunately)

Oh, yeah, and I have a winter-weather pack in my car.... just extra clothes, boots, sleeping bag, some candles, and some crackers. I ought to have a pan in there, too, to melt snow for water.
Some would call me paranoid. I say I'm just cautious.

I have one in my car for emergencies. I travel extensively in my job in sometimes severe weather. I have an extra pair of winter gloves, water, protein bars, candles and a container to put them in for burning, a lighter (the kind you light a grill with), jumper cables, flashlight, a well equipped 1st aide kit, and in the summer, sun screen and bug spray. I use it all t he time. I put it all in a duffel and could grab it in a pinch in other home situations also.

I thought you meant beer at first...
No I don't keep an emergency pack. The only thing that ever comes to houston is floods or hurricanes and my house never floods and the last time there was a real hurricane was years and years ago, although i did enjoy watching all of the cowards run from the mock hurricane rita. Funny stuff, all of them packed on the highway.

i dont but i should. if you do have one you should only carry the main things such as a small radio for any forecast..some canned food...candles...maybe a small personal belonging...flashlight...extra batteries and maybe some things you can think of that are easy to carry. as long as it includes everything you might need during an emergency.

I have one. It's really my day hiking pack, but I would grab it in case of an emergency.
The contents of the back pack: first aid kit, water, compass, nylon rope, space blanket, poncho, flash light, multi-tool, large folding knife, knife sharpner, magnesium fire starter, couple of Bic lighters, handkerchief, CD for signaling and power bars.
