Lesson # 1 never count the Devils out
#2 never, ever automatically give a team the Cup at the beginning of the season look at the Western Conference in 06 where the top 4 seeds lost in the first round.
Downhill since Craig Wolanin left?? WTF are you on man? Devs won 3 Cups years after he left.

Sorry I don't think this will be the season for cup # 4 for the the Devils. Too many changes happened this season for the Devils.
First of all the devils have to adapt to Coach Brent Sutter's new style of playing. In the pass, the Devils relied mostly on there strong checking and defensive traps. I don't think this Devil team can learn the "run and gun" overnight maybe give it a year or two. Secondly I believe the blue line has taken a large blow in the last couple of years. Lack of experience on the defensive end isn't ready for this year. .
Give it maybe a year or 2 the devils will be a strong team once again. The bright spots are the young and coming up players lake Parise, Zajac, and Andy Greene. Of coarse if Brodeur is Brodeur he can be the catalyst too start things up in the meadow land and maybe return them back to glory.
that's my 2 cents

Come back from what?
I have stated all along, and still stand by my words, that the Devils will make the playoffs this year.
Win the Cup? No. Ottawa will represent the East.

Tell me you're basing this off a 1-0 game against my Leafs. I wouldn't be very proud of that, nor would I be planning a parade, if I were you. This coming from a Leafs fan.

That, like most of my nightmares, I wouldn't believe would happen.
You never know though. Everyone has a shot right now.

Not with that lineup. They are weak on D and could use some scoring balance.
