Is there any way for members of the House of Reps to strip a Speaker of their position and elect a new person as the Speaker? Or can the Speaker not be changed until after the next elections, when there is a new Congress in session?

House Speaker is a position that goes to the majority party, and, being a party matter, the party can certainly change its leader in the House. I don't know if it's ever happened but it can. And certainly, if the Speaker were ever removed from Congress for conduct, the position would go to someone else out of necessity.

God I hope so. But not to my knowledge. I believe the Congress can take measures to vote this one out. Now there is a happy thought for a Friday nite. Thank you.
