Which would you stay in, Paris in a standard room, or Luxor in a spa suite, the prices are about the same? And why?

The choice would be a little tougher "IF" your room at Paris was one of the Fountain View rooms. Even then I would still choose one of the "Pyramid" Spa Suites at the Luxor. The "Tower" Spa Suites are ever so slightly nicer, I just like the Pyramid.

If your choice was between "standard" rooms at both hotels then it would be a toss up. You could not go wrong with either one, but since you're getting a Spa Suite at the Luxor it's an easy call.

Both Paris and the Luxor are 4 star hotels, the difference between the two is slight, if any and would depend more on what you were looking for.

Paris is NOT on the "original" four Corners(Flamingo & LV Blvd S) Bally's, Bill's Gamblin Hall(ex Barbary Coast) Bellagio & Caesars Palace are.

The other, or "new" four corners(Tropicana & LV Blvd S) is occupied by the Tropicana, NY NY, Excalibur & MGM Grand.

"Location"

You can't "easily" walk from either to all of the other hotels on the strip. So it depends on which area you would rather be.

Paris is near Bally's, Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood and Bellagio

Luxor is near Mandalay Bay, NY NY, Monte Carlo and MGM Grand.

The Luxor hands down! It's a great place to stay and play. It is farther down on the Strip, but getting around the strip is easy. The spa suite at the Luxor is very nice. So are their standard rooms.

Have fun

That would depend on how much time you will be spending in your room. The Paris is much more upscale than the Luxor. Paris is located on the corner of Las Vegas Blvd. and Flamingo...the other 3 corners have Bellagio, Cesars and The Barbary Coast (a small but nice casino and next to the Flamingo).
While the Luxor is about a mile south, the suite should be quite nice and romantic!! (So maybe it depends on who your with!)

I would stay in Luxor spa treat. It's all about the experience. Even though I think Paris is in a more prime location on the strip, I would like to enjoy the luxury. Besides, you can easily cab over or use monorail to anywhere on the strip. If you're not going to stay in your room very long, and don't mind if the room looked like a motel, then choose Paris.

My boyfriend and his family stayed at both and they said the Luxor was way better.

The only thing I would consider is where each hotel is located, Paris is more central vs. Luxor is down more.

I would stay in Paris because of its location. I love the Bellagio buffet, and the forum shops at Caesar's Palace. The Luxor is too far away from the places I like to go in Vegas.
