The Mighty Yard Chicken on the Mexican flag shouldn't fly here.
As for the Stars and Bars...It was one of MANY flags flown by the Confederacy. The ONLY reason people know it is by the KKK and Hollywood. Here is some history for you ignorants out there that think the War was about slavery. The North had all the industry...the South had all the agriculture. The North got pissed that the South sold to Europe rather than them. Europe paid more money. The North thought that the South was treasonous for not selling to them at rock bottom prices.
I am a Southerner and I don't fly the Stars and Bars. But I'm not put off by those that do. PRIDE...NOT PREJUDICE !!
DON'T TREAD ON ME !!!

The Confederate flag symbolizes a sad time in our nation's history when we had conflict between Americans. Today, I look at it and what it represents. It stands for old obsolete ideas and racism. To this date, some states still carry the Confederate symbol on their state flag. The Mexican flag flew over parts of our country when it was a part of Mexico. I am sure that in various parts of our country you will see the Mexican flag. You will also see other flags as well such as the Italian and Polish flags. Many legal immigrants have come to our country from all over the world.

I have no problem with a Mexican flag in this country.
I do have a problem with a Mexican flag being waved at a demonstration demanding that illegals be given all the rights and privileges of a person who has entered this country through proper channels. If you want the rights of an American then you must follow American rules. If you wanted to be treated as an AMerican then you must embrace the American Ideals.
That does not mean giving up your own distinct culture it does mean adapting it to fit in with the American Culture.
The Confederate Flag was used as a symbol of pride for the southern states, It was originally meant to identify their identity while still embracing the country as a whole. Lately people have decided that the flag is representation of slavery. I am not sure I agree, I think this may yet be another case of political corectness going to far.

I might not agree with those that want to wave the confederate flag, but for good or bad those are our people, where the Mexican flag is a foreign flag and needs to be flown in it's country

I realize that in the south a confederate flag is tied to pride, but it's also been tied to several hate crimes, racism and discrimination. So I'd rather not see that one around. Mexican flags I dont care about one way or another.

Confederate. I'm not still upset over the war or anything, but it does still symbolize violent rebellion against the Union. I know a lot of southerners like to claim that it just represents pride in thier region, but it still bothers me.
Where I live, you see the Mexican flag and it's colors depicted fairly often, generally in some ethnic context, like a restaurant or community organization. It's rarely offesnive. Though, in the context of the illegal alien protests, it was pretty offensive, especially when coupled to desecration of the American flag.

They are usually nowadays hung or displayed USUALLY out of disrespect for the country and to get a rise out of people. But the confederate thing is sordof old news now. So I say the Mexican flag.

Actually, a Mexican flag - because if the "citizen" flying it really had north America's best interest in mind, they'd want to show loyalty to the USA, not their home country. They can love their (birth) country all they want, and show their pride, but it shows ME they care more for that than the United States, their current home and "sugar Daddy".
While the Confederate flag is stained by hatred and regional interests, I don't view it as treasonous as the flag from a totally foreign country, who's citizens deem it worthy of flaunting in their (il)legal manner, depending on legal status.
