we've been fighting this war for six years now. if you keep up with the news you would know that we've been having terrorist plots against our country at least once a year (thankfully they're foiled by the FBI, so by the way, they're not foiled because of the war). if you've been keeping up with the news for some time now, you also know that we didn't have this big of a terrorist problem before the war began.

it sounds as if many of you believe that the war is unaccomplishable. so why do you support it?

Your post flys in the face of those of us who are fighting that war..

Terrorist acts in America disappeared after 9/11, so that question has been answered.

The FBI has not been the only agency to foil terrorist plots.

Terrorism has been reduced by those of us fighting in the Iraq and Afghanistan. We have raided and destroyed terrorist camps so that answers your inaccurate remark. We, the military, have also have effectively neutralized their networks so that they have not been able to attack the U.S. We are keeping the fight on their soil. When we leave there, it will come back here...

We did have a big terrorist problem before the war, the terrorists were living amongst us, planning and getting flight training in the U.S. so they could fly the jets into the trade center to finish their job from 1998 when, Osama's gang bombed the world trade center for the 1st time!

This war will have no clearly defined end, but we must fight or we will die.

Study facts.

Terrorism has been reduced - and that's a verifiable fact. And as the war progresses and the Iraqi people grow more confident in America's resolve, it will be further reduced.

It does not help the cause when we have leaders in Congress stating that America has lost the war (Reid) or drafting proposals for immediate withdrawal (Levin / Biden) or debating timetables to let the enemy know when we are leaving.
For what it's worth, we did have this big of a problem before the war began - we just didn't have an administration with enough courage to effectively confront the problem. It was arguably this policy of basically ineffective action that finally culminated in the events of 9/11. We must not allow ourselves to return to these policies.
As far as terrorists' plots being foiled, we really don't know that the war has nothing to do with our successes in preventing these plots - we do know that the war has captured or killed numerous AlQaeda leaders and has seriously disrupted their organization, communications and financing - and these things have obviously made it extremely difficult for them to reorganize and effectively plan another attack in secrecy.

How do you know it hasn't?

How do you know that if we weren't fighting this war, we would have a lot more attacks on U.S. soil?

We did not start this war, we were not even aware that we were truly in a war until 9/11. Do you really believe that if we weren't in this war, there would be no fighting, that they would not be working every single waking moment to find another way to attack us here at home?

We had a major problem with Terrorists before 9/11. You are fooling yourself, if you think the war in Iraq is the only thing fueling their attacks.

Think for a minute. 9/11 happened before the war, and was the largest terrorist event in this country. Therefore, we did have a big terrorism problem before the war. Not to mention the previous attack on the towers and our embassies. And the Patriot act has also helped to stop terrorism.

Terrorists are spawned and funded inside the borders of countries allied with the US - Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Therefore, Islamic terrorism will continue to flourish.

Meanwhile, the 'War For Oil and Defense Industry Contracts' is going extremely well in Iraq. There might also be a potential corporate bonanza in Iran soon . Stay tuned.

Back slid'n all the way up the hill G Bush?
"History teaches us that underestimating the words of evil, ambitious men is a terrible mistake," Bush said. "Bin Laden and his terrorist allies have made their intentions as clear as Lenin and Hitler before them. And the question is, will we listen?"

If I am not mistaken, Bin Laden is not a threat to the US. So why on earth would G Bush use him like this?

Just goes to show how much this man is a lier!

Somebody prove me wrong please, come on cons rep, answer the question...

Did he just not lie to the world? To his country? To his fellow man?

Yes or No?

If War Denial is dangerous, then Bin Laden must be a threat! It would be nice if this so called man made up his mind for the better of our troops!

Sorry Bas;lkj;

For the same reason that bank robbery hasn't been reduced. There are lots of people who think doing it is a good idea. That does not mean, of course, that you simply give up on looking for bank robbers -- or terrorists.
