My best friend's girlfriend has totally got him whipped and everyone knows it. We're fighting lately because of her. They're constantly arguing. He's changed and I hate it. He told me that he's tired of the fighting and that he doesn't even know why he's with her and that he honestly thinks that he deserves better. He said he's doubting their relationship and he wants to break up. But he decided to give her "one last chance". But they got into this big arguement the other day and today, it's like nothing happened and everything's back to normal. And for Halloween, him and our other friends were supposed to go to my house, but they ended up not going cuhs his girlfriend had to leave, so they all left. And she's changing him so he's rarely happy and it makes me sad to see him like that. I don't want to break them up, but he says he loves her but they fight every other day and he doesn't want to be with her, but they always seem to make up. It's ruining our friendship.

I've seen that guy and (I'm embarrassed to admit) I've been that guy...here's the thing: when you ARE that guy EVERYONE can see it but you, and anyone who tries to shake you out of it ends up on your enemy list. It passes, usually as she's wringing out your last ounce of blood and self-respect, but then you assess all the damage and make amends to all of those you deserted while you"weren't yourself". Bear with him; he'll be back, and he'll appreciate you for it. But realize he's got some dark days ahead. Good news: once he's gone through that, he'll NEVER let that happen to himself again...so hang in there. You're a good friend.

That is his choice to be with her, how is it ruining your friendship? How? He can date whom he wants, if its with a crazy woman or a good one. The most you can do is be there when he comes crawling back. I don't mean to sound harsh, but he won't wise up until he hits an impasse and then you can maybe talk sense to him.
