They're high school students. The obvious would be at school. Any suggestions as to where they should meet that are creative?

That depends upon how you created the characters. If she has an after school job, they can meet there. If he is interested in art they may meet at a museum of art. If they travel perhaps they could meet in some far away place - go to school together in Pritchard, Alabama, but don't really notice each other, spend the summer in Germany and meet there, and come back to Pritchard as a couple. Develop her as a person and then think of where she would be or what she would be doing and why he would be there - She is swimming and has a leg cramp so he runs from the beach out to save her - the variations can be endless and you just have to decide where she is when she meets him. Good Luck.

Glad to see you are leaning toward a creative meeting rather than getting paired together raising an "egg" baby in home economics, etc, something in every after school special. Maybe you could have them meet in a way that bonds them together in a mild trauma, such as a food fight or a fire drill. Does that make sense? Good luck with your story.

Whatever you do, try to make it as not cliche as possible. Unfortunately, almost any way you could have them meet is going to be cliche in that kind of story. Try doing some "cliche busting" have them meet in a cliche way but make it not cliche (if that makes any sense) by having it take an unexpected (but not overly dramatic) turn. Sorry this isn't very specific, but it works better if you come up with the details on your own.

I met my boyfriend in a restaurant. I was there eating with my friend and he was my server. It was love at first sight. People always tell me this is a cute story and romantic. He could be a guy working part-time at a restaurant when she comes in
