It's dry ice, not liquid nitrogen, it's not going to freeze anything solid. A very small piece of dry ice in the drink will make it "fog" quite nicely. By the time all of the ooohh's and aaaahhh's are finished the dry ice will be dissipated and the drink safe to consume. Even if there is still a small piece left it won't hurt anything.

I don't think I do usually ingest it these days - I don't often have ice in drinks except in restaurants or when the weather is hot in the summer. Sometimes, the very *thought* of chewing on ice can make me cringe....but I must admit, the actual act of doing it is not so bad.

No, I just add more of the water, tea or juice that I was drinking until the ice is gone. Crunching ice hurts my teeth.

I like to munch on it a little then suck on it and I let the water from the melted ice go down my throat in a soothing manner

I order my drinks with no ice but when I occasionally do get ice I normally suck on it until it's too cold and then chew it up or spit it out

In the summer when its hot I do-I do both chew awhile-let it melt awhile..

I sometime's suck it....never chew it though. Sometimes I bit on it......but my mom hates it when I do it(it can also damage my braces) =D
