I have noticed that when I click on the monitor tab i can see people who are downloading at that time. Does my computer or Limewire keep a record of the IP Address of those people who have downloaded when they have finished?

THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE ONE - YOU CAN'T
the only one who has ip addresses are servers of limewire network and internet service providers but the only full IP address including names and street address have internet service providers only - they release it ONLY to authorities under special order by court in case of criminal investigation ONLY - you can't get it in ANY case regardless what is and why is that - reason is they keep it as confidential data otherwise they will be chased by lawyers filing lawsuits and people will dump them as internet service providers too for privacy concerns
authorities need to follow strict procedure to get a right to find ip address otherwise case will be thrown out of court for not following proper procedure
limewire does keep yr and anybody's ip address (numbers only because that is only they have) and that is beginning of process if RIAA lawyers start chasing you

No. And this would be considered invasion of privacy unless you tell people you are doing it or even trying. Up to 10 years prison. But an IP address traces back to its' owner. This will be the issuing ISP. And the geographic location will be their DHCP server. Mostly unlikely to be in the same town, county, state or in some cases even country as the user.

Yes you can. My bank has a program that tracks your IP address. The last time I logged onto my banks website it greeted me by my first name. Surprised me, because I never save my usernames and passwords in any websites I go to.
