the black and hispanic kids are all from a different borough in Brooklyn, the white kids are all from the neighbourhood they were attacked in queens. brooklyn is an hour or more away. What were they doing there with weapons?

This is the first time I've heard this story. I think if a person commits a crime, they should be held accountable for it. It's possible that the media doesn't want to raise awareness of it because it doesn't want to be called "racist," since everyone is throwing that word around these days. A lot of people don't realize that blacks and hispanics can be just as prejudiced as whites, and others are afraid to admit it. I hope that one day things will change so there can be true equality. Isn't that what we want?

It's because the American media is run by politically correct liberals that don't want to offend minorities. It usually isn't considered racist when minorities attack whites. But some people do consider it racist to report on minority-on-white crime. Most people think that white people can only be the victims of a hate crime if they're either gay or Jewish.

I just read the article you linked to and I agree with you. It is ridiculous the way whites are always portrayed as the aggressor. I hate how blacks always pull out the "racism" cards. I feel that there are times that racism does occur, but we need to look at all the facts first. Not every incident is a race issue.

On the contrary, this has been getting media coverage here in New Jersey. I think it deserves as much press as any other racial crime and that the perpetrators should be prosecuted.

It says Hate crime in the top of the article. But clearly you can't attribute this as a classic Hate crime.... One group of kids was provoked (hit with eggs) and they fought back (with bats) obviously the people with the bats went way too far, but it wasn't a group of minorities who hate white people beating them up only because they're white, it was because they had eggs thrown at them.

The media isn't downplaying as a hate crime and I think you know that, you just want to be a typical White (b*).
If you can't read...at the bottom of the article it says they face up to seven years in prison. Also, did you read what your White counterpart was quoted saying, "Even if there was an egg incident, you don't come back with bats."
Of course. "Mom all I did was throw an egg...was that so bad!?" - ahahaha

Whoa, that's funny, I JUST saw on the news where BLACK men were being beating in the 70's by a WHITE police captain to admit to crimes that they DIDN'T DO and served 25 years in prison for CRIMES THEY DIDN'T COMMIT, and guess what, the police chief DIDN'T EVEN GET CHARGED
