Just too bad that they have completely misunderstood the real reason for our men and women in the armed services to be over in Iraq. Where did they get the wild idea that they are over there to get gay equal rights when they are really over there to make sure that Iraq becomes a free nation?

I think that the 11 million isn't enough either and that they should all be shipped over there to render whatever help they can to our fighting men and women who get injured and maybe they will learn something first hand and while they are gone, bulldoze the "church" and donate the land to something that will do some real good.

The court system needs to sieze all of the property and financial holdings of all of the "church members" and see if they want to still follow they priest then and know that they will have even more money judgements against them and even possible jail time if they try picket another funeral.

I firmly agree with the judgement against Westboro. It's very sad that they are warping Christianity and using God to defend their lies. An enormous financial judgement against the Klan in Alabama virtually bankrupted it and removed all its power. Hopefully, this judgement against Westboro will do the same thing to this hatemonger group. Now let's just hope that the courts stand behind the judgement and back the plaintiff in collecting the settlement.

I think their viewpoint is even more bizarre - from what I read they seem to believe that US soldiers are dying because the US society tolerates homosexuality; burn homosexuals at the stake and the US will start winning in Iraq. Not only is their view violent, intolerant, backward, fundamentalist (to the level of the rabid madmen who run Iran) but it's also pretty weird.

I have mixed feelings. It is good that they had to do something, but they are taking it as a victory--they got international attention.

I think its sad that its been allowed to go on for so long. I think its sad when people bastardize what Jesus stood for in order to pursue a personal agenda.

Some people come up with really strange ideas about things! But I don't think it's right to have to pay such a substantial amount of money. It would have been better to just kick out the minister behind those ideas.
