The PS3 can be connected wirelessly by using a router, and it can be connected to the internet by plugging in a ethernet cord.

The PS3 does not limit your options while online. You can check your Yahoo mail (I check my Yahoo mail on my PS3 all the time). You can email people while online, shop online and more. The only thing that I have noticed is that the PS3 doesn't display the Yahoo homepage like it would be displayed on a computer, the Yahoo homepage webpage is a simplified version. So far every other webpage that I have visited looks exactly the same as viewing it on a computer.

The only thing that you can't do surfing the web while on the PS3 is download music and watch videos. If you install a different OS like Linux, then you can download music and watch videos.

You can do a lot with the internet via PS3 but there are certain features which are not available such as logging into your Hotmail accounts, Downloading any programs and certain hyperlinks i have found not to work but i still use it a lot and find it very useful and easy.

No the ps3 browser can't even look at the upgraded Yahoo page, only a basic search engine function. Unless you partition and install an extra OS (which I don't plan on trying...)
