I think it's hilarious. By all means name you dog Gretchen. It would be perfect for a huge dobermann, so funny.

Gretchen is a great name for your dog. I was going to name my dachshund that, but she ended up being a Lucy instead.

I don't like Gretchen for a human but for a dog maybe. You could call her Gretch or Gretchy.
