so- i went on this date with a guy that works in the same building as i do- different companies, but the same building. Well, when i got to his apt, he was completely wasted, and kept talking about how this girl i work with wants him to take her out.. .. after sitting there listening to that, and being completely uncomfortable, i just got up and left. Well, like 2 weeks later, he calls me and tells me how sorry he is- and that he wants to take me to dinner to make it up to me, and that he should have never drank before i even got there and he wants to show me the real him... mind you- he did end up taking that girl out and it didnt work, i cant help but feel that im just 2nd best. What do yall think? Should i let him take me out? It is a free dinner and you never know, or should i just forget about it?

him drinking is the real him. what he does is really him. thats not the kind of guy you want. move on. hes playing games with you and yes, you are only second best TO HIM. but not to someone else, find that person and be FIRST.

I would be really nice to him, go for the free dinner (make sure he takes you somewhere really nice) arrange for a Friend to pick me up and I'd walk out and leave him saying thanks for the sorry but things just wouldn't work. He may think twice about pulling that with someone else.

I was also thinking that if he has been like that once when he was drunk wouldn't he be like that all the other times he's had a drink????

He sounds like a problem a girl doesn't need. Definitely taken the dinner and let him know after it that your not interested.

There is nothing wrong with a free meal, but it kind of sounds to me that he wants to have his cake and eat it to. I would say go out with him anyway, just to EAT (lol) but he may really like you and that would just be playing with his emotions. But then again, if he liked you in the first place he would not have gotten wasted, he would not have said the things that he said because being drunk makes your motor skills slow it does not make you STUPID!!!, and also he would have tried to impress you from the very beginning. I think he has a guilty conscience for doing what he did and he feels even worse because he went out with the other girl and it did not even work. So make him work for it honey!!!

I wouldn't go out with him. God, what a jerk. It's obvious he wanted to get with this other girl, then possibly he hooked up with her after he made his date with you, and instead of being a grown up and cancelling your dte, he just acted like a jerk. then, when that date didn't work, he called his back-up - you.

I'd leave him in the trash where he belongs.

I wouldn't go - that first "date" would have sort of been a deal breaker for me!
