And right now you can use thumb drives. No moving parts.

Other storage such as...?
Long time...I work in the hard drive industry, and there's nothing out there to replace what we're making for at least the next 5 years. And if something new comes at that point, it will take several years before we can fully convert everyone's drives to the new technology.

With the price of memory still too high to be a feasible replacement and with hard drives approaching the terrabyte mark, it will be quite a while until before the hard drive as we know it will be replaced.

What do you think flash drives are?
The reality is that if you don't see what you want on the market, wait a month and someone will invent it.
If you don't like the price, wait another month and it will come down.
