Start Christmas shopping early (i.e., now!). If you haven't started yet, make your list (check it twice!), and start buying a couple gifts at each payday. Or take care of one person at each payday.
If money is an issue, set up a Christmas savings account at your bank (if they offer it). Have a set amount transferred from your paycheck automatically as soon as it is deposited, like $20.00. By next Christmas, you'll have saved up almost $500, and can start Christmas shopping earlier. Especially when there are so many extras to buy...Christmas tree, cards, postage stamps & shipping fees, etc.

I am already stressed up to my eyeballs. My sister (who has just had a baby to a jailbird who will probably never contribute a penny to the upbringing) wants to borrow £250 because she is skint and has no money for Christmas. Maybe she should have thought of that before getting pregnant to a criminal.
