Nothing wrong with it. I'm not an only child but my boyfriend is... He's happy being an only child, I'm happy having a brother, even if he's an absolute nightmare..it's each to their own.. besides, the children themselves have no right in deciding how many kids their parents have..

Yes it is okay. It is okay because being an only child isn't too bad. You don't have sibling rivalrys and you have your parents all to yourself. You also don't get compared to your sibling because they are better than you at something. You may have no siblings but you always have friends. And also, you have cousins you can hang out with, they're family too, ya know! It may feel lonely sometimes, but even I feel alittle lonely sometimes and I actually have siblings!
Edit: Some only children don't see the good in this and end up wanting and getting a sibling. This one girl got her wish and It ended up being heck for her!

Nothing wrong with being an only child. It all depends on your Parents or Parent. Its all about the Love , attention you receive as a child.

Yes it is. I am an only child. I turned out to be a lot more self-sufficient than most of my friends with siblings did.
Also, I find that I like myself and know myself as a person well enough to be alone but not lonely. Many of my friends that grew up with siblings don't know how to be alone and can't stand being alone for very long. Also they seem to need to often get opinions and advice before making even minor choices in most everything. I make up my own mind in almost everything!

I'm not the only child I had 4 brothers,and I was spoiled as a child =)

i think being an only child has advantages and disadvantages:
advantages --
-you get more money spent on yourself
-you get more attention from parents
-don't share rooms with siblings
-you don't agrue over stuff with siblings
-stops favouritism
disadvantages --
-sometimes only children are larrys
-you don't get to communicate with someone your own age
-only children can be spoiled brats

You bet your buttons Mister. It is all those other kids were afraid it is and I love it. It's a trial to have to take on all the holidays and make every birthday special, but it's worth it to have all of their love. Ofcourse, as my sweet friend TBM says it has made us Attention Whores.

yes. you dont have to compete or have to wait because someone else needs something worse than you do at the moment. parents have more time to spend with you.
