If there can be B.E.T. then why can't there be a W.E.T. ????
Or Hispanic Entertainment Television. Why is everyone else considered a racist for wanting the same treatment. Seems unfair to me. Any ideas?

Most television has already been basically WET. What's the point of adding a dedicated channel additionally? BET was created because there was a noticeable lack of Black-produced, black-interest television. What treatment are you looking for in asking for a WET? Are you finding a shortage of shows about white people?

If WET was going to be a big hit, it would have already been created.

There is a Hispanic network I believe. BET came into existence because of a lack of African American television. Logos (possibly misspelled) came into existence because of a lack of gay television. Most TV is effectively white and straight -- with occasional token appearances by African Americans, gays, Hispanics, and so forth. So you already have your dream because, yes, there are token appearances by Caucasians on BET, and on the Hispanic network - so equal treatment exists already for you.

I by the way am full blooded English, so indeed, I'm white.

Reyn

It would not be okay because whites are the majority. Blacks, Hispanics, women, homosexuals -- all minorities. That is why these groups have specific channels and not entire cable networks devoted to them.

I couldn't imagine choosing between a women's cable network, a homosexual network, or whatever else. It is better with the variety.

There are plenty of Mexican stations. (telemundo, much?)
But if you started a W.E.T. network you would be called racist.
I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying that's the reaction you would get.
If you want an all white network try cmt

I agree, its unfair. But thats Political Correctness working for you. Moves in the right direction dont you think? lol the biggest problem is getting confused with a Porno channel. I mean WET tv? think about it. However, we did have TNN (The nashville network), thats as redneck as you can get lol. and we do have the Outdoor Network, those are also redneck (White channels). of course, know that im just being silly. but no, it would not be ok to have that channel cause that would be discriminating and racist. only the discriminated against can retaliate by having their own channels. not that i agree with it, but thats America for you.

I if I had a dollar for every time I've heard that, there are a variety of stations that cater to a particular race and group, it just depends on where you live and what kind of cable you have. And lets be real if it was a good idea then there would already be a WET station. Please stop being stupid and open your eyes to your own ignorance.

Who cares ?
The decision of what to watch is yours anyway.
It would be a different story if you got taken to court for watching BET when really you're white. TV stations are there to make money - pure and simple, if there's a demand for it there will be a supply of it.

If you have been a victim of institutionalize discrimination, then you have a "beef". If you have not, then, you don't. Why some folks define a person by their color is a betrayal of reason and the adulteration of logic.

I have asked the exact same question for years! But if there was one, then yes it would be considered a "racist" thing to do
