I like things that are original, and I'm fairly certain Mark Twain (although that was his pseudonym) wrote the book himself. Whereas Lincoln's Gettysburg Address (as with most presidential speeches) was probably massaged and edited by others. Both have historical value, but I would go with Huck Finn.

The literature of course.
It defines us as a people.

New speeches will always be written, but Twain is one of a kind.
