i am perfectly OK with a safety net for people who have tripped, 6 months of unemployment to find a good job is OK with me, id rather spend millions on helping hard working people that had a run of bad luck over spending millions on ridiculous research grants to find out how the north west wood moth mates (who cares) or a study to find out that laughing relieves stress (no sh*t a** hole)
but i have a big problem with people living off the system indefinitely,

Yes, jobs have become very unstable. There should be some relief for people temporarily out of work.
And by the way, I hate the answer that there are plenty of minimum wage jobs. I went to college and had jobs that were quite skilled and when I went to try for the minimum wage job to tie me over they did not want to hire me because I was overqualified. Not every job is a fit when you find yourself downsized and out of work.
Yes, there should be assistance for people out of work but only temporary assistance, not for a lifetime.

I think that aiding the less fortunate is a moral obligation for God-fearing men and women. I also believe that it should be entirely voluntary. Let private, non-profit organizations manage chartiy. Government agencies at all levels are bloated and inefficient; they should leave charity to volunteer organizations. When the people control how much and where charitable donations will be made, the recipients will be much better stewards of those funds.

There's no such thing as can't find any work. If you're willing to work for minimum wage, there are tons and tons of jobs. So, to answer your question, NO!
